Summer + Fall 2018 Apoidea Events

August 26: Phipps Tomato and Garlic Day! Visit Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens to celebrate the delicious, fresh and healthy foods of the summer season at our 14th annual Tomato and Garlic Day!  Apoidea will have a large selection of our organic chili-pepper infused honeys to sample and purchase! 

September 23: Reyna’s Hatch Chili Pepper Roast Festival   Harvest season is the vest time foyer to visit Reyna’s White Oak Farm in Hampton Township. This one day chili-celebration features local music, local vendors and lots of opportunities to sample heirloom peppers.  Apoidea will have lots of small batch pepper honey infusions that are only made for this one-day event.  

October 19: Questioning Local?  A Regional Honey Discussion with Slow Food Pittsburgh  Join members of Slow Food Pittsburgh in a tour and tasting of Apoidea Apiary.  We’ll review the principles of honey locality, purity and discuss detecting honey adulteration by sampling an interesting variety of honeys from around the United States.
